The beauty of Big Sur, California, is like no other place I’ve seen. For generations, it has drawn artists to its crashing waves and rugged coast to create, discover, rejuvenate, and be filled with that deep sense of awe that comes from being in nature. The more I experience it, and the more I study it to understand what makes it unique, the more I love it. Putting all of that into a photograph is a complicated goal. How do you reflect the love of a place, the beauty, the ruggedness, the colors observed, the smell of salt air and drops of mist from a crashing wave? These are the questions that Big Sur gives us a place to seek answers.
